asked the Minister of Works how much timber and other materials in short supply will be used in the work covered by the £22,000 licence granted to Edinburgh Varieties, Limited, in respect of the Edinburgh Theatre Royal.

The Edinburgh Town Council have refused their consent under the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Acts to the reinstatement and reconstruction of the Theatre Royal and the licence has, therefore, been withdrawn.

Will my right hon. Friend see that in future there is rather more cooperation between his Department and the local authority in cases like this?
