asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the estimated saving in dollars which will be effected in a full year by the abandonment of the basic petrol ration; and what is the estimated loss to the motor industry in consequence of this decision.

Thirty million dollars. The motor manufacturers will, I hope, be able to sell the whole of their increasing production of cars either at home or overseas.
