asked the Minister of Transport what is the cost of the salaries of the staff of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents; and what is the total of receipts from the sales of road safety propaganda material and the rent of exhibitions, for the year 1947–48.

The Society inform me that in the financial year 1947–48 the salaries and wages of their staff totalled £57,100, including £7,632 for staff employed on activities other than road safety. Receipts from the sale of road safety propaganda material and from the hire of exhibitions amounted to £64,736.
