[Mr. SPEAKER in the Chair]

The Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod (Lieutenant-General Sir BRIAN G. HORROCKS, K.C.B., K.B.E.) was announced.

Addressing Mr. SPEAKER, The GENTLEMAN USHER said: His Majesty the King commands the presence of this Honourable House, in the House of Peers, to hear the Speech from the Throne.

The House went, and having returned,

The Sitting was suspended until Four o'Clock, when Mr. SPEAKER, pursuant to the Resolution of the House [3rd March], resumed the Chair and forthwith adjourned the House, without Question put, to the Chamber appointed for the use of the Commons.
