11.

asked the Secretary of State for War how many soldiers of the Seaforth Regiment have now been awarded medals for bravery in Malaya.

Two officers and five other ranks of the Seaforth Highlanders have received awards for bravery in Malaya. Seven officers and six other ranks have been mentioned in despatches.

Is the Minister aware that one of these five other ranks is now living under housing conditions which he has said are worse than the jungle?

The Question is about how many soldiers have been awarded medals and not about housing conditions.

Will the right hon. Gentleman consider publishing the awards made to all regiments in Malaya, since all are equal in valour?
