asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will give the purchasing power of the pound sterling at the beginning of August, 1945, and the beginning of June, 1947, on the basis of the figure being 81 for February, 1950.

Figures are not available for August, 1945, but the average for that year was 100 and the figure for June, 1947, was 91.
