asked the Minister of Health if he will grant additional licences for private building in bomb-damaged cities such as Portsmouth where 7,000 private houses were lost.

I am ready to consider, on their merits, any applications from local authorities who wish to devote a larger part of their allocation to the issue of licences for private building to meet urgent needs.
