Colonel Ropner
asked the Minister of Agriculture how many cases of swine fever have been reported since 1st June, 1950; whether the incidence of this disease shows any increase; and whether he is satisfied that all practical measures are being taken to prevent infection.
Mr. T. Williams
There have been 315 confirmed outbreaks of swine fever between 1st June and 28th November. The number of outbreaks to date in November is slightly higher than the number in October, but lower than the number in September. Control of the movement of pigs was reimposed over most of England in August and I am satisfied that all practical measures are being taken to prevent the spread of infection.
