asked the Minister of National Insurance whether she is aware that many persons in receipt of pensions earningĀ£1 per week, are in difficulties owing to the rise in the cost of living, and if she will consider increasing the amount that can be earned by such persons, in order to provide an incentive to do a part-time job.

I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given to the hon. Members for Wycombe (Mr. Haire) and Edinburgh, West (Lieut.-Commander Hutchison), on 5th December, 1950, of which I am sending him a copy.
