asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether His Majesty's Government propose to carry out a review of sentences imposed on Nazi war criminals similar to that recently undertaken by the American authorities; and if he is aware that any appreciable reduction in these sentences to those guilty of these crimes will be deeply resented.

I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given to the hon. Member for Stafford and Stone (Mr. H. Fraser) on 29th January. With regard to the last part of the Question, the fact that the sentences are to be reviewed does not necessarily imply a revision or reduction of those sentences.
