asked the Minister of Food whether he has yet reached a decision concerning the provision of a modern slaughterhouse in Sittingbourne, where present facilities are inadequate.

This local question cannot be settled until the national slaughtering policy on which my right hon. Friend, the Minister of Agriculture and I are now consulting the various interests, has been agreed.
