asked the Minister of Food what offers have been made officially by other countries that if his Department will stop the bulk buying of food supplies they will stop bulk selling.

Apart from a tentative and limited offer during the recent Argentine meat negotiations, an offer which applied to meat of one type only, no countries have approached my Department with official offers to discontinue bulk selling if bulk buying by the Ministry of Food should cease.
