asked the Minister of Local Government and Planning if he will introduce legislation to employer local authorities to facilitate the interchange of comparable accommodation in cases of serious continuous friction between families in the same house or where young married couples do not desire to live with relatives.

No legislation is necessary. My right hon. Friend is asking local authorities to encourage suitable exchanges both with their own housing estate and as between council houses owned by different authorities.
