asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he is aware of the great amount of time and consequent cost to every employer, needed each week to work out the tax for Pay-as-You-Earn; and if he will consider some simpler system to avoid this use of labour at this time.

The review of the "Pay-as-You-Earn" system falls within the terms of reference of the Royal Commission on the Taxation of Profits and Income which has recently been appointed.
