asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer why His Majesty's Customs and Excise refused to permit the importation of 410 bundles of 5 1b. blocks of processed Caerphilly cheese by Messrs. Graham and Jordan Limited, Albert Square, Belfast, on 27th November, 1950.

Because this consignment of cheese from the Irish Republic was not properly packed and labelled as required by the terms of the open general licence.
