asked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in view of the continuing delay over the peace treaty with Germany, he will pay out, up to a maximum figure, the assets of British-born wives and widows of German subjects.

The assets of British-born wives and widows of German nationals are released to them in full if they return to the United Kingdom for permanent residence. Further, partial releases are made in cases where the women in question are resident in Germany and are in financial need.
