Mr. Dodds-Parker
asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he is aware that Nigerian groundnuts are being exported to French Equatorial Africa without paying export tax and then returned in transit through Nigeria duty-free; and what action is being taken to stop this practice.
Mr. Cook
There is no reliable evidence of any significant movement of Nigerian groundnuts across the border into French territory. The Frontier Control is responsible for the prevention of any illegal traffic.
