asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the total capital expenditure on the building of schools for the year ending May, 1951, in Edinburgh and in Glasgow, respectively.

During the year, 1950, the latest period for which figures are available, the expenditure in Edinburgh was £223,923 and in Glasgow £519,671.
