asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what arrangements he is now making to enable men to register their votes in the event of a General Election or council elections taking place during their 15 days' training.

Sections 12 and 23 of the Representation of the People Act, 1949, provide that a registered elector who is unable to vote in person at a parliamentary or local government election because of his service as a member of His Majesty's Reserve or Auxiliary Forces may apply to vote by post. My right hon. Friends have arranged for reservists called up for training to be individually informed of this and of the procedure for applying.
