Mr. Turton
asked the Minister of Food what quantity of home-grown potatoes still remain on the farms; and when he proposes to move these stocks.
Mr. Webb
About 1,880,000 tons of ware potatoes remained on farms in Great Britain on 1st March. I am responsible only for the movement of such stocks as are offered to me as surplus under the guarantee to farmers. These are being cleared steadily, and there should be no difficulty.
