asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he is aware that for some years there has been a demand for a public inquiry into the Georgetown Hospital, British Guiana: that conditions are bad and the medical and nursing staff discontented; and what action he proposes to take.

A request for an inquiry into the Georgetown hospital was addressed to the Government of British Guiana by certain doctors on the staff in August last year. I have recently received a report from the Governor on the matter which I am now considering.
