asked the Minister of Food if he is now in a position to make a further statement on tinplate supplies for fruit and vegetable canning in the 1951 season.

The fruit and vegetable canners will receive approximately the same number of cans during the second and third quarters of this year as during the corresponding periods last year. If the new tinplate mill comes into production in time, there should be an improvement in the fourth quarter.
