asked the Minister of Supply whether he will confer with representatives of the principal British mining houses as to what steps may be taken to ensure greater output of non-ferrous metals in Great Britain.

My Department will be glad to discuss specific proposals, but I do not think a conference in general terms would serve any useful purpose.
