asked the Minister of Labour if he is aware of the dispute between the Scottish teachers associations and the Secretary of State for Scotland, as a result of which a series of strikes are due to start on 5th June; and if he will take steps to bring both parties together with a view to reaching agreement and preventing dislocation of the educational services in Scotland.

It would not be appropriate for me to intervene. My right hon. Friend will shortly be communicating further with the Associations on the subject of non-graduate men teachers.
