asked the Postmaster-General what progress is being made in the reconstruction of Ashington Post Office, Northumberland: and when he expects the work to be completed.

Reconstruction of the Ashington Post Office is more than half completed. Work on the public office is taking a little longer than I had expected but the new "all-purpose service" counter should be opened by August. The remainder of the new office should be completed before Christmas this year.
