asked the Minister of Labour if he will consult with the trade unions with a view to taking steps to increase the powers of the Registrar of Friendly Societies with regard to the supervision of union elections.

My right hon. Friend is examining most carefully the judgment given in the High Court yesterday together with the other relevant factors. It is too soon to say what the result of this consideration will be.
