asked the President of the Board of Trade what action has been taken regarding the ten projects in Sunderland for which he stated in June assistance under the Local Employment Act had been approved and the further seven projects which were then under consideration.

Of the ten projects for which assistance had been offered in June, two are now in operation, six are under construction and the other two are in abeyance. Of the seven applications then under consideration, assistance has been offered in two cases, four are still under consideration and one has been withdrawn.
