I have told the local highway authority that I am prepared to consider making a grant towards the Town Centre Improvement Scheme in 1962–63. The improvement of A.470 at Pontypridd is a separate matter. It is part of the plan for the comprehensive improvement of the Taff Vale road. Consultants are preparing a revised scheme, but I cannot say when I shall be able to authorise this very expensive project.
