asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many traffic wardens have been discharged or formally reprimanded or had other disciplinary action taken against them for misconduct in carrying out their duties since the inception of the scheme.

Since the inception of the scheme in the Metropolitan Police District, the Commissioner of Police has terminated the services of one traffic warden because of unsatisfactory performance of his duties. A number of wardens have been given advice by their supervising officers as to their conduct when dealing with the public.
