asked the Minister of Transport why he refused the request of the Carmarthenshire County Council for a pedestrian crossing at the junction of Sandy Road and Denham Avenue, Llanelly; and whether, in view of the representations of the local road safety committee, he will reconsider his decision.

Because the volumes of vehicular and pedestrian traffic were insufficient to justify the provision of a crossing. I see no reason to depart from this decision.
