asked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance if he will introduce legislation to give adjudicating authorities discretionary power to award pensions for the full period of entitlement in cases where claims have been lodged late.

The present Regulations allow up to six months arrears where the statutory authorities who decide the claim accept good cause for delay in making it. I have no proposals for amendment of the Regulations.
