asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many prosecutions leading to conviction in England and Wales, and how many prosecutions in the Metropolitan district of London, there have been in the last ten years, for selling tobacco to children under the age of 16 years, whether for their own or for another's consumption.

Following are the numbers of persons convicted of offences under Section 7 of the Children and Young Persons Act, 1933:
