asked the Minister of Health what are the average weekly net earnings for trained nursing staff at the conclusion of their training; and what are the comparable earnings for ward orderlies and other untrained or part-trained hospital staff when they have been in the hospital service three years.

A three-year trained staff nurse receives £10 1s. 4d. on a rising scale; a ward orderly a fixed £9 12s. 8d. (men) or £7 6s. 6d. (women) with additions for overtime, shift, week-end and night duty, and an unqualified nursing auxiliary £8 1s. 1d. (men and women) on a rising scale. I have no information on net earnings.
