asked the President of the Board of Trade what plans he has for dealing with those depopulated areas of Scotland which do not qualify for grants or allowances under the Local Employment Act.

I am at present considering what amendments should be made to the Local Employment Acts in the legislation which, as the Prime Minister stated on 9th November, it is the Government's intention to put forward.
