There is no reason to do so. The regulations are concerned with the pension rights of new town staff on redundancy, not with lump sum payments of the type for which the new Act provides. But my right hon. Friend is reviewing the new towns redundancy and resettlement scheme which does provide for redundancy payments, and he will be consulting the New Towns Whitley Council on any amendments which may be necessary to take account of the Redundancy Payments Act, 1965.
