asked the Minister of Power if he will give an assurance that a proper proportion of orders for pipes for the natural gas strikes in the North Sea will be placed with firms in central Scotland.

Placing orders for pipes is a matter for the Gas Council and the licensees concerned; but the increased demand is expected to lead to suitable Scottish capacity being fully employed.
