Mr. Warren
asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make arrangements for an official English translation of the Treaty of Rome to be made available for public scrutiny.
Mr. Rippon
English translations of the Treaty of Rome prepared for the convenience of Parliament and the public have been on sale through Her Majesty's Stationery Office since 1962, the latest revised edition being that of 1967. No English translation may be described as official until English becomes an official language of the Communities.
