asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement concerning the official meeting he had with the South African Foreign Minister, Dr. Hilgard Muller, in New York on 26th September, 1970.

The details of the discussion are confidential, but I told Dr. Muller that no decision on the supply of arms to South Africa would be taken until consultations with Commonwealth Governments had been completed.
