asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will make a statement on the progress of the negotiations regarding pay for the police.

Negotiations are in progress in the Police Council, which has not yet made a recommendation to me.

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will make a statement on his negotiations with the Police Federation concerning the future pay structure of the police force in Great Britain.

Negotiations on police pay are the statutory responsibility of the Police Council for the United Kingdom.
