asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what was the total school buildings programme approved for the years 1970–71, 1971–72 and 1972–73; and what changes in the total programme she now proposes for those years.

At the beginning of this Parliament the primary and secondary school building programmes for England and Wales, at constant prices, stood at £171 million, £186 million and £160·5 million for 1970–71, 1971–72 and 1972–73. The first two figures are unchanged: the third has been increased to £186 million.
