Mr. Benyon
asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many people are in receipt of war disablement pensions as a result of injuries sustained in the First and Second World Wars, respectively.
Mr. Dean
94,000 and 295,000 as at 30th June, 1970. The first figure includes a small group of pensioners of earlier wars, mainly the South African War, and the second figure includes persons awarded pensions for disablement from service in the Armed Forces since the end of the Second World War.
