asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, how many individuals or companies in the construction industry have been adjudged bankrupt as a result of action by the Construction Industry Training Board.

I have been asked to reply. I understand that, between April 1969 and July 1970, the Board took out 14 compulsory winding-up orders and two receiving orders, and that no further action of this kind has been taken since the end of July. It is not known in how many of these cases the Board's action was the sole or principal cause of the firm concerned becoming insolvent.
