asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will make a statement on the Government's intentions in regard to the relaxation of hire-purchase controls on domestic heating appliances to combat the threatened shortages of solid smokeless fuel this winter.

There is on intention to relax these controls at the present time.
