asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will add the towns of Lampeter and Cardigan to the list of growth towns in Mid-Wales.

I have no immediate plans to add to this list which was drawn up only last year after full consultation with the Mid-Wales Industrial Development Association. But the listing of certain places as growth towns in no way precludes the possibility of industrial development being fostered elsewhere in Mid-Wales, as is evidenced by the plan to develop advance nursery factories in Lampeter.

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what special assistance and aid above development area benefits he contemplates providing for growth towns in Mid-Wales.

I have nothing to add to the policies announced in the White Paper on Investment Incentives (Cmnd. 4516).

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what studies were made and what representations were received prior to his decision not to set up development corporations for towns in Mid-Wales other than Newtown.

I am currently reviewing the situation in Mid-Wales but I have received no representations regarding the setting up of separate New Town Development Corporations.
