Mr. George Cunningham

asked the Minister of Overseas Development if he will state the value of British economic aid to Gibraltar, Malta and India in 1969–70 per head of population of the recipient country.

Disbursements of aid in 1969–70 per head of population were:

Gibraltar£246s.0d.
Malta£114s.0d.
India2s.0d.
Disbursements of aid to Malta were suspended during that year as a result of the dispute which was settled recently. Had disbursements been made according to plan, the figure for Malta would have been approximately £18 12s. 0d.
