Mr. Barry Jones
asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what is her policy with regard to consultation with teachers and architects of proposed new schools; and if she will make a statement.
Mrs. Thatcher
The arrangements under which new schools are planned are the responsibility of local education authorities and promoters of voluntary schools. The best new schools are usually those where there has been collaboration between teachers and architects.
