asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry whether in the absence of sufficient competition between manufacturers of instant coffee, he will refer the industry to the Monopolies Commission.

I note the hon. Member's suggestion, and will bear this industry in mind along with others which satisfy the statutory criteria for reference to the Commission.
