asked the Secretary of State for Wales what is his Department's policy with regard to further schemes of comprehensive education in Welsh county areas.
As I said in reply to a Question on 9th November, I intend to implement, in Wales, the policy announced by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Education and Science in Circular 10/70.—[Vol. 806, c. 28.]
asked the Secretary of State for Wales what is his Department's policy with regard to the threatened ending of sixth-form teaching in schools where the Welsh language is the medium of instruction, following upon the introduction of comprehensive education.
The discontinuation of sixth form teaching in schools where the Welsh language is the medium of instruction would constitute a significant change in the character of that school. In such cases Statutory Notices would have to be published under Section 13 of the Education Act 1944, as amended. Such proposals would thereby require my approval.
