asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he is aware that some companies wish to purchase instead of lease sites on government-owned industrial estates; and whether he will take steps to meet the demand for such purchases.

We are always ready to consider the sale of our industrial sites wherever this is practicable and where their development in this way would help in the provision of employment. If my hon. Friend has any particular cases in mind, perhaps he will let me know.
