asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what advanced technology aids are available under the National Health Service for the severely physically disabled; what publicity is given regarding these aids; what advice he gives to hospital boards regarding the prescribing of this equipment; and if he will make a statement.

The National Health Service provides a range of aids incorporating advanced technological features for severely disabled people; they are too numerous to list. Doctors responsible for prescribing are given suitable information, as are regional hospital boards.
